Have you ever wanted to learn a new language?

Transparent Language Online language learning courses are now available free to Wharton County Library cardholders. Transparent Language Online is a powerful language learning system that uses flashcards to teach you a set of words or phrases. It is the fastest possible way to lock foreign words and phrases in your long term memory.

What is Transparent Language Online?

Transparent Language Online takes users through a series of simple steps to memorize words and phrases in a new language, including their meanings and correct pronunciation. In addition to Transparent Language Online's advanced learning tools, users will have access to an array of online language and cultural resources including one-click access to Facebook and Twitter language communities as well as Transparent Language Online language blogs which feature a collection of articles covering the language and the culture that surrounds it. You can choose from over 80 languages plus 16 courses to learn English from other languages.

How do I set up an account?

Click the icon for access to the login screen.
Click on the light blue button labeled "Sign Up with Barcode or User ID".
Click on "Wharton County" in the drop down list of libraries. This will open a new page where you enter your library account number (barcode). If the number is a valid account you can fill out the "Create New User Form".
After an account is created, you can login anywhere, with any web browser. You do not need to enter your library account number again, just use the log in and password you created.
